Consumers increasingly expect companies to show environmental responsibility, which, besides other advantages, can also be a great opportunity for cost reduction. RioOFFSITE is a great example of a corporation that managed to combine sustainability and economy with a single action: automation of the refrigeration and air conditioning system. The data storage company has reduced its electricity bill by 25% with Sitrad PRO, an automation and remote management software from Full Gauge Controls, a manufacturer of digital instruments for refrigeration, air conditioning and many other variables.
The project was implemented by LP Goulart Engenharia in partnership with SetFrio, both headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. “It is our standard procedure to perform a scan to understand the customer’s needs and how to best meet them. In the case of RioOFFSITE, we knew that the refrigeration system needed to be optimized and we would be able to solve this by using Sitrad PRO to gain a complete view of the installation and making an affordable investment. Thus, we achieved savings of 25% in the first couple of months, which we intend to increase after the project is completed,” explains Arthur Vinagre, LP Goulart Engenharia engineer and partner.
The characteristic of the products stored by customers is also considered by LP Goulart when programming Sitrad PRO, and RioOFFSITE has the specificity of keeping electronic products that are highly sensitive to humidity. “We managed to gain remote access to all information to anticipate any problems before they interfere with the functioning of the refrigeration equipment and the quality of what is being kept by the company. Some of the problems the technician would only discover after a total failure,” adds Arthur.
Another outstanding advantage of using Full Gauge Controls software is the increased service life of the air conditioner and its parts, which also contributes to save financial and environmental resources. “With Sitrad PRO, we were able to get the best out of the equipment without the need to use its maximum capacity,” explains the partner LP Goulart Engenharia.
