You can choose to have a fixed IP hired with an internet service provider. This option demands a higher knowledge about networks and IT. Or you can use Remote ID, a service free of charge supplied by Full Gauge together with Sitrad. Independently of the remote connection mode, it is

Sitrad only collects the IP number to link it to the remote ID, which is a unique address within the Sitrad supplied by Full Gauge for every Sitrad server.  This address only indicates the connection path and Full Gauge does not collect nor store the facility’s data.  

Yes, as long as Sitrad uses this gate, independently if it is gate 8001 or any other number. The gate will automatically be blocked for its use by any other program.  We recommend using an antivirus and firewall that monitors the network and that Sitrad is added to the list
